The Daniel book is still 'present truth', but how she see's a link with the Middle East situation is not clear. My father said something similar to me recently; how these events 'line up with the book of Revelation'. Of course, there were no specifics as to how this is true and it does not even follow what the Society teaches. Then again, I've heard that the Berlin Wall falling was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, the 'peace' during Clinton's administration was the prelude to "sudden destruction", and 9/11 was more fulfillment of Bible prophecy. I guess we are in a state of perpetual fulfillment. How happifying!

Let him explain what he wants. If he has doubts and wants help to sort things out you'll know right away and may be able point him in the right direction. If he's fishing, you'll know that too...

Matt 24 gives events that mark a certain period of time -- not a particular religious institution 'doing the preaching work'. This was to be fulfilled in the first century, during that generation (generation in the classic sense).

BOE LTR PDF Nov 17- Notation made to ks10
by yknot in(( hardcopy link of boe ltr pdf : http://www.sendspace.com/file/1gncdo ))... in my best 'theocratic' voice trying to mimic a service meeting conductor (giggles) ..."if you have acrobat you can insert this behind the other boes in the ks10 pdf, or if not consider downloading and keeping it in the same file as your ks10 for future need to know..... i chose to 'highlight' what i thought might be of interest to the forum in the below transcript but of course it is not limited!.
to all bodies of elders.

It seems that we can take this as internal evidence that more people are just 'walking away'. Now we have a procedure to handle the cards in this event -- assuming the body knows where the individual moved.
What I really love about this letter is how the Society puts all the liability for what is written in the introductory letter on the local body. Sure, they tell them to include basic biographical information, no surprise there. But then they answer a question with a question: "What informati o n s hould be conveyed in the lett er of introduction ? A s k yourse lf : What information would we want to receive if this person were moving into ou r congregation?"
A typical (Reasoning-book style) non-answer that places all the risk on the local elders!

4/15/11 Watchtower--quote on ministerial servants
by sd-7 inso did anyone notice the statement on page 11, paragraph 11?
"if a brother has been baptized at least one year and to a reasonable degree meets the scriptural qualifications fo rministerial servants outlined at 1 timothy 3:8-13, he can be recommended for appointment.
" i thought paul specifically warned against appointing a "newly converted man"?

I can't recall them ever putting an exact time frame on this. And he only has to meet the requirements to a "reasonable degree"? This a religion in decline.

My mom throws a not so subtle threat my way
by JWinprotest inmy fade is going well, but my mom knows full well what my thoughts are on the wts.
it seems that she feels comfortable just ignoring the situation in order to keep seeing her grandchildren.. the other day however we were talking about someone we know who is making it very difficult for her parents to see their grandchild.. then out of the blue, my mom turns in my direction and says, that if any of her kids try to deny her from seeing her grandchildren, she would take them to court and get a court order to force them to let her see them.. i know what the message was, and it was loud and clear.
she is letting me know that if i get disfellowshipped there's no way i can keep the kids away from her.

So, if the WTS 'denied' her from seeing one of her own children (through DF-ing) would she obey or would she sue them too?

They are tightening control -- only elders can now access the location of the conventions. Any elders on here that can access the password-protected area of jw.org and post the list?

Welcome.
For historical publications go to:

Regarding the ever important 607 vs 587 issue, it is a question of whether the Bible claims that the 70 years were a Jewish timeframe (beginning with the destruction of the Temple) or the Babylonian timeframe for the domination of other nations (from their rise over Assyria in 609 BCE to their end in 539 BCE). Keep investigating, you'll find the answer in the Bible.

@ Scholar:
Perhaps you missed my earlier post...
Can you please post the specific Bible verses that prove "the reality of the Babylonian Gap"? No commentary needed -- just the books, chapters, and verses.
Thank you.
